Modafferi Wedding-Cancun

Destination weddings are always fun, with a splash of adventure. I recently had the opportunity to photograph Mona and Tom Modafferi’s wedding in Cancun, Mexico. Lately I have been working as a photographer in Las Vegas, and I am a fairly seasoned traveler, yet this would be my first time to this part of the world. I was excited to check Cancun off of my bucket list, and it did not disappoint! I had a bit of a rough start to the trip, dealing with flight delays, but when I finally got to the hotel after a long travel day, I was relieved. The wedding party (including myself) were all staying at the Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort, which is a lovely all-inclusive resort right on the beach. Needless to say, I abused the 24-hour room service the (the chips and salsa, and wings were delicious). After getting a good nights sleep, I was rested up and ready to shoot! Before every wedding, my mind is always racing…are the batteries charged, did I forget to bring anything important, how is the lighting at all the locations, how much time do I have to shoot, etc. Fortunately, the day went smoothly, and the lovely couple were happy with their photos. The most eventful part of my trip was on the journey home. I had to fly through Mexico City, on the way home to Las Vegas. Somehow, I missed my connection for my flight home on AeroMexico, while being at the gate! I pride myself on being a very experienced traveler, but somehow I couldn’t recognize that my flight was boarding in front of my eyes. I had to scramble to find another flight home, and fortunately found one. That was my splash of adventure (and stress), but overall, I had a great time with my camera, and with some great people!
